Data can improve the planning and delivery of public services.
Research by the Welsh Government found that many towns make limited use of their data assets. This was attributed to a lack of knowledge of what data is available.
Urban Foresight was tasked to audit all data related to towns in Wales in 2022. This was commissioned by the Welsh Government’s Year of Smart Towns programme, which is supporting businesses and public services to use digital technologies.
Three interactive tools have been developed to summarise the available datasets and support greater use of data assets.
